Charles LOOS (piano) - Dré PALLEMAERTS (drums) - Bass COOIJMANS (Bass)

“DJANGO D’OR” 1997 Award for the best Belgian French speaking jazz artist...

After a classic training, in 1972, Charles goes studying composition and orchestration at the Berklee School of Music of Boston.

Back in Europe, he accompanies numerous light music and jazz soloists (Toots Thielemans, Chet Baker, Philip Catherine, Johnny Griffin, Mauranne,...) and joins more experimental groups (“Abraxis” or “Julverne”).

He forms the “Loos-Lazarevitch International quinter” with S. Lazarevitch (gt), Ricardo Del Fra (cb), Eric Ineke (drs) and John Ruocco (sax), then duets and trios with Steve Houben, Mauranne, Ali Reyerson.

He particularly likes intimist concerts and recordings in solo, duet, trio, interpreting his own compositions, fed with very different elements.

His wide experience experience with different bands led him to world wide tours (Europe, Central Africa, USA, Canada, Israel), festivals (Middelheim, Belga Jazz, Prague, Montreal, Amsterdam, Monterey, Mulhouse), radio and TV shows and recordings. Music for theatre plays (“Les poètes du Jazz”, Antigone”, “Salut Lenny”), for ballet (“No wall no war” - Californi 91).
