Phil Abraham is both seduced by jazz and trombone which he learning by himself. His evolution through different styles is parallel to the history of jazz.

 

Even if, today, he is a modern soloist, he played with many different famous names such as : Toots Thielemans, Lew Tabackin, Art Farmer, Paolo Fresu, Henri Texier, Deborah Brown, Ferdinand Povel, Phil Minton, Lou Bennett, William Sheller, Michel Legrand, Michel Petruccianni... And in a European tour with Michel Petruccianni. He also participated in the album of Charles Aznavour “JAZZNAVOUR”.

 

Phil ABRAHAM has to his name about 20 albums among which 3 in quartet, a formula with which he won several contests : best young orchestra at the Brussels’s Jazz Rally, first prize at the “Concours International de Jazz de Sorgues”, “Europeans Radios bFestival”, prize of the best Belgian group at the 10th International Contest of Belgium, prize of the best soloist at the contest of the” Concours de la Défense” in Paris. Phil Abraham is also demanded in several big bands. He is soloist in the Act Big Band, in several recordings and concerts of the big band of the Belgian Radio (VRT), he has been chosen by the VRT to be member of the European Radios Big Band in Strasbourg, he was invited at the Concert Hall of Moscow by the Big Band of Moscow for a soloist TV-concert at the Festival of Moscow and finally he is now the first Belgian jazzman to be a member of the National Orchestra of Jazz in France for world wide tours.
